Communicare Media statement: Ruyterwacht home burns in a fire

For immediate release 10 May 2022   A fire broke out in a house owned by Communicare on King George Street, Ruyterwacht on the afternoon of 9 May 2022. Regrettably, the property was extensively damaged and cannot be occupied. The roof of the house caught alight and caved in. All doors and windows were burned. Tenants occupying the house managed to escape the blaze without any injuries. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. 31 March 2022 For immediate Release A 29-year-old male, who illegally occupied a Communicare apartment in Drommedaris, Brooklyn for more than a year was evicted yesterday, 30 March 2022. Communicare tried to offer the illegal occupier an opportunity to sign a lease agreement. However, he did not qualify due to his bad credit record. Communicare opens property market to Black investors

Communicare commits to changing the landscape of investment property ownership in Cape Town with the sale of blocks of flats in Ruyterwacht which was first announced last year. By the end of February 2022, five blocks of flats had changed ownership to black-owned property companies. Two such investors are Pelagia and Jonathan Kafesu of Beacon Leadership. 1 March 2022 Rifda Morat lost a court application on 25 February 2022, after claiming that she had been unlawfully dispossessed of her apartment by Communicare. This matter was heard after the court had already granted an eviction order in 2019, which had been effected by the Sheriff of the court on 19 January 2022. Communicare Media Statement on the eviction of illegal occupant and tenant

21 January 2022   Communicare confirms that the Sheriff of the court implemented an eviction order against Moerida Morat as instructed by the High Court of South Africa. This is after Ms Morat had illegally occupied a unit for more than 3 years at Sakabula, a complex owned by Communicare.
